HOW IT WORKS

A process designed to feel as good as the result.

Every Ramble on Rose project begins with listening. Before a single plant is selected or a line is drawn, I want to understand you — your home, your life, what you love, and what you want to feel when you step outside.

01

Inquiry

The first step in what becomes a genuine design partnership.

03

Consultation

60–90 minutes together in your outdoor space. Site walkthrough, vision discussion, and the beginning of the design relationship.

05

Concept Design

Big-picture layout, flow, and style — without final details. This is where ideas are explored, options compared, and direction is chosen collaboratively.

02

Garden Brief

A quick, easy introduction to your likes, dislikes, lifestyle, and goals for your outdoor space. Complete it before our first meeting.

04

Proposal

A clear scope of work, an inspiration mood board for hardscape, softscape, and lighting, detailed pricing, and a projected timeline.

06

Final Design

A build-ready plan with exact measurements, materials, plant selections, and technical details — everything a contractor needs to price and install accurately. Includes a maintenance plan.

07

Installation Support

Contractor introductions, proposal review, and on-site check-ins during installation to ensure the built work stays true to the design vision. A 10% installation oversight fee (of the total contractor invoice) is charged for this service and will be clearly itemized in your proposal.

08

“The Ramble”

Clients can opt-in to subscribe to a monthly text with information specific to their gardens. This is a great resource for the homeowner doing the work or for the landscaper to have as they keep the garden going

“McCauley listened. She embraced our vision and offered thoughtful recommendations to enhance our existing gardens. She introduced us to fresh, new ideas for the future. We appreciated her elegant restraint and respect for the space.”
